A mutual friend of ours here in the UK was the tour bus driver to The Temptations back when music was great.

He said Ali was a complete gentleman on AND OFF the stage.

His exact words were " Damn, that boy could sing! "

I would of LOVED for him to of gone on the UK XFACTOR. I wonder what Tulisa would think ... Haha.

A true great.

This video shows how good this guy was live.

Look! the Temptations are the standard in which ALL groups and singers are to be measured by. When Ali stepped up and made his mark, in the path set by David and Dennis, he did not miss a beat, he BLAZED his own trail, unlike any other. I saw my first Temptation concert back in the 60's when it was a Motown revue. Having said that Ali kept this thang going. In 2004 I was walking in Caesars Palace (Vegas), and I heard this voice melodically floating through the casino, I said, " Man!!! I hear Ali Woodson" I went searching and found him in a Lounge handling his business. He looked in my face and seen how excited I was and smiled back, My "love for music life" was complete. May God Most High, have mercy on Ali, and reward him with the choicest of blessings. Thank you God for loaning Ali to the universe.

I have been a big fan of the Temptations since I can remember. I first became aware of Ali's incredible talent when he joined the group and truly adored him as the lead singer. No one has been able to fill his shoes since his departure. He is another great Temptation and solo artist who has gone home to be with the Lord1
Heaven's choir just got a whole lot better. I will forever be a great fan!

The Lord has embraced you and may you forever R.I.P. in the loving arms of Our Father In Heaven

My husband, Robert 'Bobby J' Jordan, sang with a group called Louisiana Purchase, based in New Orleans, LA. Some years after Bobby joined the group, he met the Temptations and was privied to perform alongside Ali. When we married 22 years ago, Bobby had performed in Canada, at which time the Temps were in the audience (Otis, Melvin, Ali). Bobby sang Every Time You Go Away, and Ali joined him on stage. I had the most wonderful memory, in photo and video form, of Ali and my husband on stage together but all of our memorabilia was lost during Hurricane Katrina. Nevertheless, I got to personally meet Ali some years later when he performed at Boomtown Casino in New Orleans (after he and my husband had lunch). he was a true gentleman. We mourn your loss and we share in that loss. I don't know how many acknowledge his gospel rendition of 'The Question Is', but the man was phenomenal, sincere, and annointed. We pray for your family because he appeared to be everything referenced about him: a good friend, husband, and father. We all know that he was the greatest Temptation ever! We are still watching his videos. Always know that he will forever remain alive in our hearts. God bless.

Ever since I heard Ollie sing at The 200 South on Campbellton Rd. in Atlanta, GA I knew that he was destined for greatness. During those days, moneyless as one could imagine, I would sit in the club, nursing one beer for two sets (or more, if I could get away with it!), listening in awe to his many incredible musical talents.

Perhaps a year or two later I had the privilege of working with Ollie at another club in Atlanta, playing the piano as he sang. To this very day I recall that as one of the most memorable experiences of my life!

I knew Ollie as a fellow musician and as a friend. He was always warm and personable. Without question, that is why he was loved so dearly by so many people.

Ollie was a rarely gifted individual who will be missed by music professionals, friends, family, and his many fans. Rest in peace, Ollie.

I grew up on listening to the Temptations and I still love them today. The greatest voice I ever heard was coming from Ali Olli Woodson. He was in a play called "Love the one your with" by Michael L Matthews back in 99 and he sung his hit "Treat her like a lady" and he brought down the house, I know he is now singing for the lord. May the Lord continue to strengthen your family and he will truly be missed, but his voice will always be heard. Rip Ali Ollie Woodson. The cd he sang on was by Marvelous Entertainment.
